Frank Smith is a collection of furniture produced by British Columbia manufacturer Francis Lemieux & Co.
Francis Lemieux & Co. has been providing high-end custom furniture and millwork design and fabrication services in Canada and the US since 1984. Over the years we have maintained a mission to respect the tradition of fine craft, while employing innovation in design and technique. We have a reputation for producing high quality work that meets our customers' ever-changing needs and endures the whims of fashion.
After 18 years in North Vancouver, Francis Lemieux & Co. recently moved to larger premises near the Burrard Inlet waterfront in Port Moody, on the outskirts of Vancouver.
The principal designer for Frank Smith furniture is Francis Lemieux. Francis Lemieux established himself as a leading Vancouver designer and maker of fine contemporary furniture in the mid-eighties, garnering national attention for his work when he won the first Canadian design competition for residential furniture — Virtu — in 1985. His work is held in private collections in Canada and the US and in the permanent collection of the Canadian Craft & Design Museum. This collection will soon be housed at the Vancouver Museum.
His collection, Frank Smith, demonstrates his signature finesse and is designed for today's urban spaces. Efficient, timeless new classics.
In designing for long term use and comfort, Francis also considers the materials we use. Our furniture is made with both solid and veneered parts. Clients may also ask for available FSC-certified wood and veneers to be used.
